Image & Text in Visual Arts Forth Assignment

I have been wanting to make a business card, but never had the right template to use, well software. I ended up using Adobe Spark when I was working on some videos and seen they had many templates for flyers, business card ect. So I wanted to keep my color schemes of pink, black and grays. I tried to keep the fonts all in the family so it was not to much to take in. I did not want to have a front and back of the card I wanted everything to be on the front. Though I may fear it may come off as to busy, but with the line breaking the header from the footer apart it is okay to look at.

Mixed Media Forth Assignment

I wanted to do something different for this assignment from my previous work. I came across an old sketch I had done just by doodling really and I was like hmm I can scan this into Adobe Photo Shop and make it come to life. I dismissed some of the features and details while I was tracing over the pencil lines with the paint brush tool. I did two versions after I colored certain areas in with a pink tint. This is the sketch (Original Image)

I wanted to try my hand at another "flyer" per say. It is more to advertise my work. I think I kept it more on the simpler side this time. I kept the original font I use for Bowdacious, I added my logo saying, "I make the real, into real fake photo-manipulations." I tried not to use many fonts only two and I used the Instagram logo with my username underneath it so people know that is where they can go to look at my work. Followed by my name. For the girl I wanted to keep y mu signature look that I created within my first mixed media assignment with the artificial bratz eye and lips.

Mixed Media Third Assignment

I decided for this assignment to draw again. I have not nor do I draw a lot anymore since I mainly use my phone or computer for digital images. Although I have always liked cupcakes and bows and thought okay I can draw something and then scan it into the computer and make the drawing a digital image. Thus using two different medias. I made sure to upload the original image followed by two semi different versions I created from my drawing. I added one effect with a slight swirl and I just enjoyed how it came out, I think because the way the frosting looks. I first started with just making the frosting pink, but then I thought it would look good if the whole image was pink with the hints of black and make it more of a painting. From that point it was just playing around with filters, hue/saturation, curves and exposer. Original Drawing  Drawing Edited Within Adobe Photoshop Two Versions

I am super pleased with this logo. Again starting from my main base of the mannequin head and using her in a different way, I wanted to create a graphic vector image. A logo, but not a simple black and white that you see all the time. This was actually very difficult for me because I have never done anything like this before. Well I have tried but they always came out wrong and not what I really envisioned. I even posted this on my Instagram because I was so pleased with it.  I wanted to just have a simple white background because I was thinking of the accent color font I wanted to use example for the photo-manipulations. I played with the curves of the base mannequin to get rid of the texture and detail of the original image, so it was just white. Although you could not just simply erase it out because I wanted to keep some of the texture from the neck and hair. I applied a cutout filter since it seems to be my favorite, followed by a brush tool, opacity low and a pink glow col

Mixed Media Self Portrait Second Assignment

For my second assignment, I wanted to use the same theme of the mannequin head, which I have named bowdacious you could say that she is the mascot for my brand sorta speak. Though I label this as a self portrait.  My first idea was to create a two headed figure, either with two mannequin heads or one mannequin and my own head, though I was not able to get the positioning right. So I may try that on the third assignment. But I just took random pics holding the head in different ways, positioning my own head until I captured this photo and I just liked it so much over the other ones that were taken. You will see a familiar face that I have created, I simply selected just the face from my original photo from the first assignment and placed in on this version. I changed the wig but kept the bow.  I wanted it to be clean cut and simple. So I just painted the background black, I added the same features of the mannequin, as in light, texture to my own to give it a sense of being apart

The idea of nail polish came to me when my mother and I were talking about how people think that are nails were salon done, when we just paint them ourselves, I suppose we really nice nails, but it gave me the idea for this ad. I wanted to be creative with the name, so I went with my trademark Bowdacious and built from there. As I read in the books, I new I did not want to use many different fonts, so I stuck with a total of three. Obviously you have Bowdacious in the standout font that draws you in and is a font I most classify with. I chose a nice accent font that is in the same family with being pretty, but doesnt clash with the main title. I knew I needed one more font to break up the ad, so I chose a little bit of bolder font and made it white. My focus was more on the text rather then the images themselves, but you need images in an ad to draw someone in to buying a product. The dripping of nail polish coming down from the top of the page implies that is what was used to write
